How did Ag 1 Source
begin? You might think that this is a question that
will have a complex answer. However, the answer is
rather simple. Ag 1 Source began due to solid core
values of integrity. A team of dedicated professionals
started this business with the core values that they
all share the common belief in delivering a high
quality product, conducting themselves in a highly
professional manner, and always with the highest of
integrity.
This is the set of
“core values” that holds Ag 1 Source together. These
core values are a bond that cannot be broken. It is
what holds together the keys to this company’s
success.
We invite you to now
look through our past 4 years and see all that we have

“The year 2002 was
not the easiest of years to start a business as
agricultural recruiting consultants. Many companies
were still in a conservative hiring mode due to a
tight economy, the after effects of 9-11, and a
persistent drought that plagued a wide area of the
Central U.S. agriculture The Ag 1 Source team had a
formula, however. It was a formula that was developed
by listening to the needs of our clients. It is
actually quite simple, “provide us what we don’t
already know. Find us the top talent that will help
our business not only succeed, but excel past our
competition,” they said. The Ag 1 Source team was
dedicated to develop a better program, one that would
set us apart from our competitors.
The Ag 1 team put
together this new system dedicated to uncompromising
quality in 2002.” Mike Smith

Ag 1 Source Office Opened in Apple Valley, Minnesota
“Ag 1 Source is not a
simple resume distribution company. The team of
consultants works together to seek out, research, and
qualify the top talent not just based on skills in
their background. One of the real keys is to also
identify and determine the compatible personality
matches in candidates. We believe that the right match
in styles are not only important, but are essential to
the right match. A resume is a history document of
sorts. A referral from Ag 1 Source includes not only a
resume, but much more. The resume is included in an Ag
1 Source referral which is a forward looking
description, one that includes a personality style
description and an analysis of how the consultant sees
the candidate in the proposed position. The year 2005
saw the Ag 1 Source referral process improved by the
addition of a visual representation page of the
candidate’s style quadrant called a Personality Trait
Table. Our customer feedback has been great.” Mike

“In 2006 we have seen
very good prices for grain driven by new demand from
the Ethanol and BioDiesel industries. Better on-farm
grain prices will filter through the entire food chain
increasing demand for all ag inputs and services. Ag
input suppliers need to have highly professional
people working with their customers to help them
manage the increasing business risk on the farm. The
real competitive advantage these suppliers have is the
quality of their work force to help customers do what
they need done. This can be done partially through
effective training of current employees and bringing
in the ‘right’ first rate employees when needed.”
